WHAT HAPPENED?
Villa have confirmed the sale of Luiz to Juventus in a deal worth €50m (£42m), while Samuel Iling Jr and Enzo Barrenechea have moved the other way in separate deals worth €22m (£19m). Juventus have also been linked with a move to sign Alisha Lehmann, and she could well follow her boyfriend to Turin.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The pair have been on holiday in Las Vegas but, previously, Italian sources have suggested that signing both Luiz and Lehmann would be a major marketing coup for the Old Lady. Lehmann is perhaps one of the most recognisable figures in the women's game but it is unclear how much she would cost.

DID YOU KNOW?
Lehmann scored just four goals in 2023/24 with Aston Villa but she is a full Switzerland international and it appears that she would be willing to make the move to Italy to be with her beau.

WHAT NEXT?
Luiz will begin work with Juventus ahead of the 2024/25 season and it remains to be seen if the club will formalise their interest in Lehmann. Now one deal is done, the dominoes may well fall.
